Lotus 9 is a cutting edge new band fusing the pulsating dance rhythms of dub
with electronica while keeping the spontaneous energy of free jazz. Dreamy
female vocals over live drum and bass grooves, followed by smoothed out
instrumental interludes brings the listener through a complete aural
experience. Its musicians are all legitimate New York City players
influenced by the surrounding club scene who hope to transmit that energy
with a human directness.

Bass Player John Trent is a budding dub/ambient producer with several
records to his credit on the Worship record label. His bass playing reflects
the reggae and funk that influenced him while having a fresh, modern
approach. He is a desired session cat who's more recent work includes being
the bass player for Lady Bug (Digable Planets).

International artist Nick Gianni is a muli-instrumentalist who's talent has
brought him to Europe and Australia. His virtuosity on the guitar, flute and
saxophone add texture to the group with his fluid solos. Stateside, Nick has
played with such jazz luminaries as Marshall Allen (Sun Ra), Luther Thomas 
Butch Morris and guitar master Hugh McCracken.

Vocalist/Pianist Nicole Pinon brings her smooth vocal textures to the band.
Having sang and played with such indie bands as Joy Zipper and The Plants,
Nicole brings a certain pop sensibility to the project that ties it all
together.

Drummer Chris "Root" Heinz is one of NYC.'s great live electronica players.
His pressence on the Kit reflects the influence of club/DJ culture while
always retaining a jazz sensitivity.

Keyboard player Ken Goodstein brings ambience to the group with his deep
colorfull synthesizer patches and insightfull programing. Some of his other
endeavors include film scoring and engineering.

Percussionist Bopa King Carre' brings both his world rhythms and dance club
experience to the group.He has traveled the world to study ethnic drumming
at it's source while mantaining his status as one of NYC.'s top in demand
club musicians playing various dance clubs and underground raves.
